EasyDMARC Enhances Single Sign-on (SSO) Experience

Single sign-on (SSO) has been part of the EasyDMARC offering for a few years, as it is key to enhanced security and seamless accessibility. We have now improved the user experience even further by enabling you to manually configure SSO for your company rather than having to rely on our Support team for this setup.

EasyDMARC SSO, which is based on the SAML 2.0 standard, supports the four most common identity providers:

  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory
  • Google Workspace
  • OneLogin
  • Okta

We are working on adding other identity providers, e.g. JumpCloud, and also aim to have support for SCIM in the future.

To complete the SSO process, you need to first verify domain ownership and then set up SSO through your identity provider. You’ll find step-by-step guides for configuring each identity provider in our Knowledge Base.

Our enhanced SSO process addresses a critical need for centralized identity management, streamlines logins, and reduces the management overhead associated with individual EasyDMARC accounts. Keep an eye out for our next platform improvement.

The new SSO configuration can be accessed by going to your EasyDMARC dashboard → Organisation Settings → Single Sign-On

Introducing the New Viewer Role on the EasyDMARC Platform

We’re excited to announce a new addition to our platform: the Viewer Role. Designed with MSPs in mind, this role allows their customers to get a topline view of what’s going on with their domains, without enabling them to edit any settings in the panel. This ensures that critical configurations remain secure and unchanged.

This new Viewer Role is available for both the Domain Group and Domain levels. The main difference between them is that the Group level Viewer role automatically gets permissions for every new domain added to that Group.

The Viewer Role can be conveniently assigned through the Domain Management, Domain Group Management, and User Management pages.

Key Features and Functionalities for Viewer Roles

Individuals with a Viewer Role on the EasyDMARC platform are able to access the following pages:

  • Dashboard
  • All Domains
  • Aggregate, Failure and TLS Reports
  • Reputation Monitoring (for permitted domains only)
  • All pages under the Tools section
  • Personal Settings
  • Organizations’ pages

Those with Viewer Roles are also able to export CSVs/PDFs of Aggregate Reports, Failure Reports, and TLS Reports for their domains.

However, Viewer Role users can’t perform actions related to domains, domain groups, or user management. They also can’t apply Labels or add domains to Reputation Monitoring.

Click here for the detailed overview of all Roles and their permissions on the EasyDMARC platform.

The addition of this Viewer Role is another way we are showing our commitment to providing flexible, secure, and user-friendly solutions for our MSPs and their customers. We are continually developing more enhancements to our platform and services, so keep an eye out for future updates.

Product Update: Changes to Permissions and Roles

We are pleased to announce that our Permissions Management system has been significantly upgraded to better align with users' roles within their organizations. These changes are designed to enhance security, improve functionality, and ensure that access to Reporting, Reputation Monitoring, and Alerting is appropriately managed.

Targeted Access Control for Reporting and Reputation Monitoring

Previously, some users had unintended access to certain modules that were not relevant to their job functions. We introduced two temporary hotfixes that restricted access to Reporting and Reputation Monitoring to address this.

We’ve now implemented a permanent solution, which includes the following changes:

  • Visibility of Reporting and Reputation Monitoring tools are restricted to the domains users manage
  • Only users with Organizational Owner or Admin roles can add external domains or IP addresses
  • Domain Group Admins and Domain Admins can only manage reports for their assigned domains, although they can add other users to reports
  • Product Editors, Domain Group Editors, and Domain Editors can create reports but can’t send the reports to other recipients.

There will also be some changes to our alerting system and role enhancements later this month, so stay tuned for more news.
